2.Diving with Turtles in Floripa

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 53 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $97Best value

Join instructors Eduardo and Sérgio for a beginner-friendly underwater outing from Marina Barra Náutica in Florianópolis. After a safety briefing, you boat toward Xavier Island for a supervised 30-minute scuba session or snorkeling, with chances to see turtles, colorful fish, crabs, eels, and coral. Groups are limited to eight.

“I had an absolutely amazing and exceptional first-time diving experience thanks to this fantastic team: Diver Eduardo and Boat Captain Sérgio. They were both incredibly cooperative and friendly throughout the trip. It is very clear that they possess extensive diving experience and professionalism. Despite this being my first time, they patiently gave me complete instructions and made sure I understood every step. Once we were underwater, I never felt scared for a moment! Eduardo stayed right by my side, checking on me every few minutes, which was extremely reassuring. I highly recommend this team, especially for first-time divers. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.”

from Rio de Janeiro: Diving in Buzios

3.Diving in Buzios

★★★★★★★★★★4.1 · 10 reviews · 3 hours · from $150

Travel from Rio to Búzios by authorized vehicle, meet your instructor at João Fernandes Beach, and enjoy a 45 to 60 minute beginner-friendly scuba session. Guide Pablo helps with the day, while Marianna at the dive center can advise experienced divers about morning boat trips. Lunch on Rua das Pedras is included, but drinks, marine tax, photos, and videos cost extra.

“If I could give this negative stars, I would, but that still wouldn't be enough. DO NOT book this tour. The drive from Rio is not 2.5 hours as advertised. It's a 3 hour drive after all the pick ups are done, and that's with no traffic, so expect at least 4-5 hours one way. We had holiday traffic that TOOK 7 TOTAL HOURS EACH WAY. Can you blame the travel company for traffic? In this case, yeah, I do. Evidently, this traffic is normal around new years, and they still offered this tour without any indication that I would be SPENDING OVER 14 HOURS on this godforsaken [expletive] bus.…”

Buzios – DIVING EXPERIENCE

4.DIVING EXPERIENCE

★★★★★★★★★★3.9 · 7 reviews · 3 hours · from $100

Meet at Centro de Mergulho Dive is Cool, then head to João Fernandinho Beach for a theory lesson and relaxed water practice. A personal instructor stays with you, making this suitable for beginners and non-swimmers. Look for turtles, colorful fish, coral, and sea urchins, with photo and video service included.

“O pessoal é legal e amigável, mas a experiência em si não foi muito boa. Já fiz váaaaarios mergulhos de batismo antes e nenhum deles o instrutor ficou tão em cima e próximo de mim como esse. Sem falar que eu questionei a questão da visibilidade, eles falaram que seria de boa mas na verdade a água estava muuuito turva, e mesmo eu perguntando não levaram em consideração para o mergulho. Então tendo como base outros mergulhos que já fiz, esse foi o pior de todos. Não recomendo.”

“The dive itself was fabulous. I got one dive while everyone else got two, if not more in some cases. It was never explained to me why I only get one. I also have to say the organisers made little or no effort being the only non national in the group. This I found really poor. One guy did his best and that's all that's expected due to communication challenges. An effort is always appreciated! The guide to my dive did make me feel I was in good hands. I definitely would not recommend doing this trip if you've no Portuguese. I rarely give bad reviews but felt invisible on…”

“(Part 1) I visited Rio de Janeiro a week ago. I wanted to book one day scuba diving trip. Safety was an important aspect, as I was alone. This is why I was looking for arrangement with hotel pick up option. Among numerous online offers I have found GetYourGuide platform. This platform had the most detailed description of the trip, especially about the diving. This was the reason to choose this option. There were positive and negative impressions. Positive: Bruno was my guide. Very dedicated to his job, with official and respectful approach to the client. He was giving many interesting pieces of information during relatively long trip (2.5 hours)…”

An English speaking instructor got me set up for the dive and gave me a briefing before turning me over to Luka who led the dive. I was the only certified diver on the boat and got personal attention.”
